This unique two week programme in association with EdmissionUK and Steinway & Sons is designed for 13-17 year old girls and boys, who as young pianists may be hoping to pursue a career in music, or simply want to learn from some of the most internationally distinguished professionals. The programme will be tailor made to encourage students to get the most out of this inspiring course.
Piano lessons, master classes and group workshops run by Artistic Directors from London’s world-famous Royal Academy of Music will take place in the morning using the facilities at Harrow School including concert pianos and top quality practice rooms.
English lessons totalling 30 hours over the two weeks will take place with qualified teachers. The maximum class size will be 12, so students will receive plenty of teacher attention and have a high quality class experience.
Evening and weekend activities and excursions will include a tour of London’s Royal Academy of Music and concert tickets to the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms concert season, a guided tour of Steinway & Sons with opportunities to play various Steinway models, as well as an exclusive opportunity to witness a rehearsal of the London Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Maestro Valery Gergiev, one of the world’s most respected and dynamic conductors. Students will also be able to audition for the final recital in Steinway Hall, London, at the end of the course.
All students will have invaluable performance opportunities as part of the Harrow Piano Festival 2008 and inspiring one-to-one tuition with their esteemed piano tutors. The Artistic Directors will also give exclusive recitals for their students.
